We booked a car in Germany and received a voucher. On April 29, 2017 we got our booked car from Budget at the airport. It was vehicle one class higher than booked, but we didn't know that, and Budget didn't informed us. Nobody exlpained us, that this car causes additional fees. They explained us, how much we have to pay for toll etc, but no words about the "Upgrade". We would never have agreed to about $ 1000 additional costs, which more than doubled the original price, just to be one class higher.

We waited in line for over an hour on a Saturday morning just to pickup our rental car. There were dozens of people waiting in line and only one to two people checking people in at a time. The people from the Avis desk finally had to come to the rescue. I am very unlikely to rent from Budget again at O'Hare after this experience. I watched as the the Avis line was taken care of quickly and professionally.

The worse downside: the huge deposit they held on my credit card ($1500!!!) Amount that Budget never stated neither on their own website or on the rental contract we signed. I hope it won't take long to be released...

What is this $267.61 from Budget Rental?

We already hired many cars in the US, and are familiar with free and paid "upgrades". We never had problems before. We thought, Budget is a designated company, and that we can trust in it. Now we are going to file charges for fraud and counterfeiting.

I did call customer service. They are returning 1/2 in 3-5 days.

Flying in to O'Hare at 1am picking your car up is like, where is my car ? I have an hour drive to the Motel. Wait in line for 45 minute because there is 1 Avis person covering Budget .Show my paperwork, ID and Debit Card. Wait here... your car is outside the door. Off I go Sweet.

No one asked me if I wanted a different car, I just took the car they gave me assuming that was the car I rented.

The company "BUDGET Rent-a-Car" now states that we had signed a contract, which contains the additional costs. But that's not correct. We were presented with an electronic device for signature. The recorded signature was now inserted in the contract. We have never signed this contract.

Turn the car in , get the receipt, are we good? Yup.

I was given an upgraded car and other supplemental stuff.

Until I look at my bank transactions 2 days later.
