Five stars for the gardens and location. Even if you don't pay to enter the museum, the gardens around it are one of the most serene places in Chicago. While in the area, you can also visit the Lincoln Park Zoo and Conservatory.

Great place to visit with the kids to have a fun scientific experience. There were some live animals and some stuffed, preserved animals. The live Butterfly rainforest is the best.

Three stars if you are an adult looking for a science museum to spend an afternoon. Everyone can appreciate the incredible butterfly room, however many science oriented adults are likely to explore the rest of the exhibits rather quickly.

Cute, small-ish conservation and education-focused museum. If you have kids, think about skipping The Field and coming here for the more kid-centric feel and the numerous outdoor spaces (you won't be bored as an adult, don't worry). The indoor Butterfly garden is one of the best I've been to. Also, Herpetological Society comes every month with lizards, snakes and tortoises that you can hold and pet!

Five stars for the museum if you are going with children. Most of the exhibits are perfect for children. I have had great times here with my family.

What a delightful little museum. Great exhibits on flooding and locks, and well as frogs and fish. Particularly loved the butterfly conservatory and the interactive exhibit with the snakes and turtles. It's surrounded by beautiful natural scenery.

If you are a science minded adult with no kids with you. Don't go hear. It was cute but I am not from Chicago and when I saw "nature museum" I thought oh ok... they did not tell us it is geared towards children. The specimens don't even have the year they were caught. And the era the fossils are from.

This museum only sells snacks. I suggest crossing the street to the free Lincoln Park zoo if you are hungry after your visit.
