Always enjoy visiting the Museum of Science and Industry while in Chicago. The diversity of the exhibits and how it comes together in the central atrium really give a holistic experience you expect visiting an excellent science center. Further, the use of the wings to provide a smooth flow between each subject is natural and intrinsic. Finally, the staff throughout the exhibits were friendly, engaging, and enthusiastic about bringing innovation and education to the museum guests of all ages and backgrounds. On a side note, the U-505 exhibit is phenomenal!

Pack a lunch with you to save a bit of coin. There is a mini cafeteria (vending only) that's quiet to eat at in the Space exhibit.

If you are in Chicago, this is a place you should visit, whether you have kids or not. The museum is big (but not huge) so you can visit pretty much all the exhibitions within a 3 hr period (not counting extra cost exhibition which we did not visit). Is a really fun museum and you will learn a lot y you want to. Try to get here early so you can enjoy it without a lot of kids stumbling into you.

Try and go first thing in the morning; avoid spring break and holidays; avoid right before school lets out in December (the amount of kids will be staggering at these times).

Make sure to visit when their Christmas Tree display is on - trees from most countries decorated in that country's theme. Kids love it.

Trains, model of Chicago impressive.

Can easily spend a day here with the littles if you're prepared!

Relatively stroller friendly (lots of elevators).

Big, overwhelming at first, but in fact cozy. Many permanent exhibitions as well as constantly new temporary ones for an additional fee. A good place to take your children. Has food, restrooms, coat check, elevators, stairs, and escalators. Temperature is comfortable and stable, no need for a coat. Very friendly staff. IMO money well spent

Relatively expensive to get in but kids under 3 are free.

This is a fantastic place to hit with kids and people visiting the Chicago area.

Our kids (6 & 4) love this place. They are always asking to go there. It was great to see the reopened space exhibit. As a member it's awesome to get to go to the member's lounge. They have a good selection of rotating exhibits. The most recent robots self-guided exhibit was a lot of fun. We speedy love seeing if we will get to watch a baby chicken hatch in the incubator. They is also a great hands on area for kids off all ages with dry and water play zones. It's a little pricey, but one of the best child friendly science museums I've ever been to.
