Took my wife and two older boys to the American Writers Museum. Located on Michigan Ave a half block north of Millennium Park. Spent over an hour there. Exhibits are modern, innovative, and interactive. Sucked us in. Both permanent and rotating exhibits. Not the best for young children, but any middle school kids on up will love this place. Great idea to pair it up with other close by attractions like Art Institute, Millennium Park, theaters, or a walk along the river.
Super cool exhibit. Brought in authors to the exhibit that I did not realize it even think of as authors. Very well put together. Very quiet. Had a neat interactive exhibit that you can contribute to as a museum guest. Things start off arranged in chronological order by timer period, and give examples of authors from different genres, including women and minorities. Even brought out some things I didn't consider real writing. Sometime when I have more time I want to go back and slow down, read more of it
Great measum! It had a great location, was cheap, only only took about a hour to go through.
I absolutely love this museum. I highly recommend it for visitors/readers of all ages.
This is a writer's paradise! It is an amazing collection of literary works and authors' stories. I love the interactive spaces. They brilliantly combine the age old art of writing with modern technology. You will leave there inspired to write and planning to come back.
