I dont normally write reviews but, I love performance and have been going here for years. Mike and the guys/gals in the back are the best and have saved me and taught me a lot. Of all the bike shops in downtown Chicago area I will always go here. Best staff, best prices and bike shop I've ever been to. I ride just about every day 10 miles to work in the city, and if anyone knows what it's like riding in the city you know how important a good bike shop is. I recommend everyone go here. If you're an experienced rider or just getting started and want a decent bike for a good price, I'll always recommend performance. Thanks for all your help over the years Performance!
Inexpensive bikes, and great employees!
I've been a patron on and off for almost 10 years, and every year I seem to find new reasons not to support this shop. From mechanics telling me they can't repair things that other shops have no issues with to employees who could not care less about the customer experience (see vulgar language mentioned in other reviews). The last thing keeping me hanging on was their amazing deal on tubes: 5 for $15. They got rid of that, so I wish this KMart of bike shops the best of luck as whatever yoga studio or mattress shop the space becomes. There are at least 2 other bike shops within walking distance I would recommend over this chain.
The Shop actually opens at 11:00am, not 10:00am.
I live in Ukrainian Village and still go out to these guys. Good people working there, extremely knowledgeable and they won't steer you wrong.
Needed some quick adjustments to get back on the road. Was out in ten minutes. $5.
