The sam guy is a lying twerp. He says the price is one thing, then you walk into the store and find out that the total price is tripled than what was talked about on the phone. He guilts you into "donating" for a cause and tries his best to make you feel bad for not donating. I am in a tough financial situation and when someone says I will pay a low price, then dammit it should be a low price. Don't make it seem like I'm a bad person for not donating when that wasn't part of the transaction. Its business, so they shouldn't try and make it seem like they are helping causes that will increase the price to tripled.
Sam will rip you off. Charged me a bottom bracket for $45 and a single speed chain for $20. I told him I needed a 73mm bottom bracket. He said there's no such thing of 73mm. I had to show him proof with different sizes of bbs online. However, The Bike Lane sold the bottom bracket cheaper and BETTER quality, and single speed chains of $10. I had to return their bs. He also told me that my frame was no good use to put a bottom bracket. I went to another shop and other bike shops, and they said my frame was perfect. Don't buy anything from this shop because they will rip you off. I recommend going to various bike shops before going to this one. Sam is just looking to make you spend more than what the actual product is really worth. Don't fall on his mind games. Do your research first.
Greatest bike shop in the city. A nonprofit who uses the funds to reinvest in community health and will match or beat all deals anywhere else or on the 'net. No other options for your bike purchasing, parts, or repairs. Best shop ever.

I was having some small spoke issues (Chicago's road ways don't always help much either) but had been looking into a set of deeeeper rims for quite sometime online. A friend referred me to Armiatage bikes so i checked it out. The staff was amazingly knowledgeable on top of being very friendly. In the end i got a PHENOMENAL deal on a set of rims. It was better price than online especially after shipping. everything turned out super great. 5 stars easy.
