Its a nice theatre with a good layout so even the shortest people can get a good spot. My biggest gripe however, is how muddy the sound was because it was so bass heavy. If I'm going to see a rock show, I don't want it to sound like they're playing over a Skrillex sample the whole night. During more bass heavy parts, you can't even hear the lead guitar because its so muffled out. I don't claim to be an audiophile, just a guy that likes equalized sound.
The place was mostly great. Servers work the crowd so you don't lose your spot to get another drink. The space is designed so that you have a decent chance of finding a spot where your view won't be blocked.
Arguably the best venue in Chicago to see a music concert. The venue has excellent acoustics, feels very intimate, and has a friendly staff. The theater is set up in such a way that most people will have a good view of the stage. I went to see Slowdive here and enjoyed everything about the show and the venue. Highly recommend watching a music concert here.
Unfortunately, the sound guy did a poor job the night I was there, could barely hear the violin even during a solo, the vocals were fine, everything else was really muddy. Hopefully the next show I see there is better.
Top life music venue in Chicago, great sound. Small enough to be still intimate, but large enough to attract well known musicians.
Intimate place to see a concert. But sound was not as good as I expected. Sounded muddled. Don't sit on the side on the mezzanine. Sit in the middle.
