2. Parking validation machines in the lobby only accept credit/debit, which doesn't help people looking to pay cash. Despite the ability to visit the ticket counter, if long lines require a wait, you won't be leaving for some time.
Probably one of the best theaters in the city if you are looking for that large layout 'suburban' movie going experience. While it lacks some of the unique dining and entertainment options of some other large city theaters... You are afterall going to see a movie. In that regard I have never once been disappointed with the facilities or staff. Even parking which can challenge to deal with the garage system at some theaters in Chicago always seems to go smoothly without the hour long que to pay on your way out.
Very fast paced theater staff as far as ticket sales and concessions go. They could use to do some more theater checks for people on phones but it wasn't too big of a deal. Definitely be sure to check out their IMAX!
6. The ladies that work here are kind, respectful, and actually smile. The guys? Not so much. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with their behavior, but is it really that hard to look like they enjoy having employment outside of fast food? Not asking for a fake smile or scripted lines to tell people as they enter/leave, but how about looking like they actually enjoy working.
I've been visiting these theaters for years now and have been happy overall with the upkeep, but a few things have either changed for the worse or not changed for the better.
4. Garbage bins immediately exiting the theater are not emptied nearly enough. I'm unsure if that's the theater itself or the city of Chicago, but either or, it makes the theater look bad when garbage is overlowing on a consistent basis.
3. The concessions employees are amazing, courteous, and spend a lot less time being chatty than they used to. A+ for the change. The problem here isn't employees, so much as it is the selection of food items. Sure, they have what 90% of movie theaters around the country have, but nothing that stands out or peaks one's interest so as not to eat elsewhere. Chili fries? Burgers? Add something for a change.
Theatre for the basic. Nothing fancy, nice seats, great sound and picture. Be careful on which nights you go, this theatre is family heavy. If you don't mind kids then you won't be disappointed. Been to this location dozens of times. With my dad as a kid and now as an adult with my girlfriend.
1. General maintenance has been on point mostly, but there are times when management is either too lazy to get people to pick up or the employees simply don't care. Messes could be popcorn spills or simply bathrooms going unchecked. Either way, it seems inspections aren't done frequently/thoroughly enough.
Overall, it's great coming here and seating is beautifully comfortable, but a few changes would change this rating from 4 stars into a well-deserved 5-star establishment.
5. The elevators in the parking garage only half work...and this is funny because there are 3. 1 elevator works, another doesn't, and one works when going up...not down. It's very clear and apparent these aren't inspected for service at all, but seeing as how the garage is specific to the theater, could they at least try? Please?
Nothing fancy here. Nice theatre, nice seats, etc. I give it a lower rating simply because I always have to wait an inordinate amount of time getting popcorn and bottled water. I'm talking 15-20 minutes every time. Sometimes longer, so come early if you want snacks.
