One of the better movie-going experiences in Chicago, The Davis Theater was recently renovated by folks who didn't want to erase the original old school charm.
Only 4 screens, but who cares about that? You don't go to a movie theater for its selection; you go because there's a specific movie that you want to see.
The restaurant and bar area is top notch with friendly staff. The old fashioned is a must have.
Seats are super comfortable and they're also assigned, so finding a place to sit is easy.
The Davis is an amazing theater in Lincoln Square! Great mix of throw back and modernization in the decor. They also do a wonderful job of partnering with local non profits and causes!
The concession stand is fine, but you can also bring in food from the adjacent restaurant (from a restricted menu, to keep things practical).
Excellent place to watch a movie. Great old style theater with a lot of charm and character. Super nice people. And the food in the bar is excellent. Going back for sure.
I've driven/walked past this place so many times. I can't believe it's taken me this long to go inside. Incredible theater, sound, ambiance. Most importantly, they have awesome popcorn and serve drinks! For all of that, you'd think you're paying a lot. It's similar priced, if not cheaper, than bigger theaters.
What a great combination of old and new. The restored theaters are amazing. The work that went into keeping the original facade was well worth it. Amazing sound and picture quality.
