Saw the excellent movie Hare Krishna. There wasn't a dry eye in the place. It is an amazing movie.
This is one of the good theaters that show documentaries and movies that are meant to watch. This last time we came to see brimstone and glory and we won't have seen the documentary anywhere else. The place is welcoming. They have a cafeteria and chairs to relax before or after the movie. There are two screens and the chairs are comfortable. They also offer discounted parking near by. Will come and see more movies or documentaries.
This theater is run by the School of the Art Institute and is exactly what you would imagine from that institution. Lots of good contemporary, foreign, experimental, and classic films and documentaries. Some of the movies are overrated and the artist programs are hit of miss either very inspiring or pretentious and dull. Overall this is a reasonably priced small upscale theater.
Small theatre that showcases unique films that you won't see in the bigger theatres. This place is close to several parking garages, but the best way is on the train Lake/state stops. It's across the Chicago theatre.
Great mix of high-quality independent films. Comfortable setting. Old seating, but place is undergoing renovations this winter.
