I was here with my brother following a minor surgery. The nurses were so friendly and knowledgeable! The room was clean and they brought in an extra bed for me to sleep on so I didn't have to leave him. House cleaning emptied the garbage before it was even half full, the CNAs were so helpful, and the doctors even spent some time with us rather than dipping in and out quickly. I, of course, never want to have to stay in a hospital, but if I had to, Weiss would be my first choice. The staff is absolutely wonderful here. I would recommend it to anyone!
I cut my hand in multiple places and was bleeding all over the place. I was in excruciating pain and had to wait for more than 2.5 hrs just to get stitches that take 2 mins. They did not have enough staff on call and were not equipped to handle any serious emergencies. I was told that I had to wait because I was not going to die in front of them. I literally had to beg the nurse to get a doctor to see me. Once the doctor saw me, i had to wait for another 30 mins because there were no rooms available. The doctor was helpful but apart from that, they were incredibly slow, unorganized and the ER room is anything but an EMERGENCY room. This is a joke of a hospital.
This negative review is about Weiss Memorial Hospital located at 4646 N Marine Dr. in Chicago, Illinois. Beware! This is a VERY BAD hospital ! Emergency room in Weiss Memorial Hospital is just AWFUL !!! I left this hospital with 4 bruises on my leg. I remember that old male nurse with gray hair who gave me these bruises and this male nurse called me a Lesbian. These what he said to me "Oh, you act like a lesbian",he said.These were his exact words. Even if I am a lesbian,it does NOT give you the right to physically abuse me and give me four bruises.Calling a patient "Lesbian" is NOT the proper way to talk to your patients ! this is Bad and Unacceptable! I am not even talking about these rude and ignorant flame boys gay male "nurses" who work in this emergency room.These male nurses abuse and neglect their patients. They are treating you like if you are a piece of meat. These bad gay men nurses don't even try to work. All they do is stand in the hall and chat with each other talking about gay bars and hot boys. I was laying in my bad and these gay men nurses were standing next to my room. The door was opened and I could hear them talk about gay bars and hot boys.They went in to all the details too. Eak!!! It was disgusting!!! I wanted water and a warm blanket. I was feeling very cold and thirsty. I asked these nurses to bring me a warm blanket and water, but they pretended that they can't hear me and they just left.These BAD gay-men nurses were very Rude and Unprofessional. This hospital is located in a boys town and a lot of homosexual male nurses work in this ER. These gay male nurses are very aggressive towards women.This is a huge problem with Chicago city because gay men in Chicago are acting very aggressively towards women.A lot of homosexual male nurses are working in Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago Illinois. These bad male nurses are very BAD and AGGRESSIVE! The gay men in Chicago hate all women and they use every single chance to show it. And so these obnoxious male nurse who punch my leg on purpose. I was abused and neglected by this BAD male nurse. These male nurses are criminals! I think that police and detectives should take a closer look to this bad hospital.These gay male nurses are BAD and DANGEROUS! Some one has to stop them before they can heart another patient. I was abused! This is a total harassment! I have my human rights! I am a PROUD AMERICAN!!! Every patient has the right to receive a quality, professional and good care. What happened to me in this hospital was a total harassment! I didn't deserve to be abused and neglected like that.I was abused and neglected by some very Unprofessional, aggressive, mean, abusive and rude gay male nurses who work in ER in Weiss Memorial Hospital. I have my human rights! I will sue this Bad hospital.This has to STOP!!!
Can't speak for the hospital as a whole, but the ER staff is wonderful! Had to wait for a friend one night and the young man doing admitting was so kind, caring, and helpful! Would definitely go back ☺️
If you have a loved one and care about them this is the last Hospital you want them to be in. It is the equivalent of having a prisoner lost in the prison system. I live in NYC and my brother is a brain tumor survivor in Chicago - I am his legal guardian - and he had a bad fall after a seizure and was taken to Weiss. Both the Nurse an the Doctor refused to give me any information on my brother and kept citing HIPPA Laws and "How do we know you are who you say you are?" SO, after many arguments with an arrogant physician, I was told he would look into it and call me back which he or course didn't. I was never able to get an update on my brother until he finally returned to his supportive living facility. I have never had this issue with any other Chicago area Hospital. Weiss won't even allow you to email them Power of Attorney papers to get get info. on your loved one. They should be shut down. It is like losing track of someone in a prison system.
