Don't be fooled by its name. JJ Thai serves one of the more authentic thai foods in Chicago, although I wish its portions are bigger especially during delivery orders. This is one of the thai restaurants that keeps me ordering again and again from time to time

Overall a nice, quiet, and comfortable place for a quick dinner. Food was reasonable for the serving size. I had the curry beef with noodles and my brother had the fried chicken with rice.

True to its' name this place is no frills but offers simple and hearty Thai food. Other reviewers are good to point out that there is no pad thai on the menu so their offerings feel more authentic.

This is the place to go for authentic Thai food! You won't find pad Thai on the menu. Trust me you won't be disappointed. Have the owner help you choose off the menu. We have Thai beef salad with sticky rice and another dish she recommended. Everything was fresh and delicious. Great place for B.y.o B

The meal was fast, hot and not greasy. The issue was that everything was very bland. The curry was so subtle and with next to no presence of cilantro or green onion and zero heat, I had to doctor it with the offered hot sauce. I like being able to control my spice but I really doused my soup in order to up it from a curry broth. The hot sauce was tasty but fell short of being spicy.

I'd go back but with reservations.

Seating can be tight as it's a smaller space with a minimalist approach but it is called 'street food' so I don't think it's fair to judge their interior harshly. The service is friendly and food comes out of the kitchen fast but sometimes it seems they short on wait-staff.

Service was pretty good but feel bad for the 1 waiter for the entire restaurant! We tried one soup which was really good but everything else was at best mediocre if not straight up bad! The tarot dessert was definitely not good! The sauces were all on point but the meat was just over cooked! The chicken meatballs were nothing exciting and the wings were just dry. The one thing I loved besides the soup was that we could sit outside and relax on a beautiful day.

Personal regular favorites are for appetizers are wings (at the time of this review item A2 on menu) and the Thai version of fried chicken wontons (again at time of review item A6 on the menu). My favorite for the main dish is R6 with an egg -- so good!
