EDIT: I'm adding a star because their prices are pretty much the same as big box stores, they just don't have any kind of rewards or discount program that I know of like the big box stores.
I don't usually rate things 5 stars, but this place deserves it! I bought 3 fish here in the summer (one comet and two black moors) and they are doing really well! (The comet died of old age last year) I remember looking around and seeing the healthy animals and really amazing myself. You should definitely go here if you want healthy fish
Truly saddening sight of animal neglect. The stench is horrible as you walk in. Not because it’s a pet store but because it’s lack of maintenance. The ferrets, hamsters, mice & guinea pigs are housed in soiled wood shaving bedding that’s bad for their respiratory system. I walked in here looking for a hamster. They had tons of babies that all had wet tail (infection causing them diarrhea). So sad. All the guinea pigs are terrified of human touch. The feeder rats are stored in pull out drawers. The reptiles have no proper heating or lighting. The shelves are dusty with very old products. They even carry Petsmart owned brand products that Petsmart stopped selling ages ago. I digress—please..Please take care of your animals. They are living beings who feel pain and neglect.
Good selection, but the markups on a lot of things are a little ridiculous. I purchased a Marina 10 gallon starter aquarium kit which was around the same price I can find it online, but that's about the only thing that I've cross-referenced prices on and found to be similar. For example, I bought a Marineland 150 HOB filter at Jules pet shop for $39.99- plus tax, and the same unit (brand new Marineland 150 HOB) costs $17.99- with free shipping on amazon (and the list price without the prime discount is at $19.99-, still half the price of Jules). Same thing with the automatic fish feeder I bought there. They only had one model, a brand I'd never heard of with no display or buttons (it feeds every twelve hours from the time I put the batteries in) for $35 or $40, when I have found it listed online at $13 plus shipping. To be fair, their prices on actual fish are reasonable/ pretty good, and they have a lot of BOGO deals in freshwater fish.
I will say that this pet shop has a good selection of fish (fresh and saltwater), birds, small mammals, and reptiles, especially for the size of the store, and a HUGE selection of food for everything (live insects, frozen/freeze-dried/flake/pellet fish foods, a whole wall of bird foods by the pound, dog and cat food), as well as anything you would need to house any of the animals they sell. Staff is also fairly knowledgable and definitely helpful.
Love this place! Great prices on bird seeds, and other products
I love Jules! I recently got a 3 month old hamster from there and it know has wet tail within a 6 days of me having it. I called them and told them what has happened and what I can do. They said they can try to give it wet tail drops they had and if it passes away they give another one free. I took my hamster in to show them and they gave me the medicine free! I'm so happy.
