We have used New City Moving multiple times and always receive great service. The crew that was assigned to us had to hike up four flights of stairs with heavy furniture and did not even blink. There was not a single complaint and they were polite and incredibly hard working. The team made it easy to set everything up before hand and makes moving at least that much less stressful! My experience with this company was awful! I had a virtual tour of my one bedroom apartment so that I could get an estimate which was under estimated by approx $100 on a small move. I had only 4 boxes that they had to move and I told them they were fragile. When I opened them my antique china was shattered. I have moved several times as a renter and this was the first time that I have experienced anything like this. They wrapped the furniture to be moved and also ruined an antique breakfront. There is literally a corner gouged out and some other destruction. I was comforted when the crew told me that they would send someone to fix it. I then called the office, the staff is very nice, however they sent me a release to sign before anyone would come out to fix it. The release wouldn't allow me to discuss the issue or write a review regardless of whether they were able to make the repair. I found this disturbing and offered to sign it after the repair was made. That isn't allowed so I refused to sign it. I preferred to be able to write an accurate review as moving is stressful enough, and its beware with this company.
Their movers, handling of your possessions, trucks, supplies, etc are first class.
Nothing in life is perfect and like life my move wasn't perfect and I firmly believe that you shouldn't judge a company by the problem, but how they respond to the problem.
