Supported my neo-brutalist study habits during my time at the University
Know that the library is known as the "Reg" on campus. While it has a great selection of academic works, its very limited in books you might read for pleasure. If you are visiting, check the website and see if they are offering tours of the adjoining library's, Mansueto's, robotic book retrieval system as it is quite interesting and impressive!

(The fact that the library stacks are closed to outsiders is my only reason for giving this superb institution only 4 stars.)
Because I'm not a University of Chicago student, I can only review the Special Collections department, which I have visited several times while researching the history of Shimer College. The Regenstein is a fantastic place to do archival research. The staff are extremely helpful and professional, and the reading room is very well-appointed, with book cradles and tripods available for those who need them.
One of the world's finest academic libraries.
