My favourite grocery for now, despite the fact I have to ride against wind for 20 to 40 mins depending on the weather.
I love the entire Cermak Fresh Market chain, but this one is special. Maybe it’s because of its location near Chinatown and not far from Pilsen, but in any case the store has a great combination of Asian and Mexican items. Great meat selection. And there’s a nice lady selling tamales outside the entrance - her tamales are THE BEST. Grab one for a great lunch!
The variety of food is very good for Mexican/Italian/Asian cookings so does the quality. The price is surprisingly low considering the quality.
Furthermore, they got parking slots for both cars and bikes and the staffs on the check-outs are friendly and efficient.
They have fresh ingredients, but recently they've reduced the quality in vegetable and fruits. Hopefully they will raise it to perfect. I really like the freshness and competetive price of Cermak.
Cermak is a quirky grocery store with chains throughout Chicago. There are some staples that they don't have a ton of. However, they carry all of the necessities AND some super fun unexpected items! Beyond that, this particular one has some of the best produce in the city. I'm so happy it's in the neighborhood!
Spectacular prices on produce, and great selection of hard to find produce. Meat tends to be expensive here if its not on sale. Their hot lunch specials at the hot bar are hard to beat and their prepackaged cut up fruit is awesome for a snack. They also have decent sushi at the deli ready to go. Did i mention their freaking amazing selection of craft beers? I just wish they had a few more Vegan friendly grocery items and a Vegan option at the hot bar.
